We tested the Hot Bodies VE8 brushless 1/8-scale buggy in the April 2010 issue of R/C Car (you can download our chassis set-up in our “TECH—> Setup Sheets” section).  With Hot Bodies’ Josh Alton’s help, we tuned our VE8’s Mamba Monster ESC slightly to provide less braking power and a different throttle deadband, resulting in a buggy that was much easier to drive than with the stock ESC settings.

Although we have a photo of the Castle Link Field Card in this article (it will adjust everything except dead band), we used Castle’s “Castle Link” PC programming software and USB cord.  Try these settings on your 1/8-scale brushless buggy and let us know what you think!
