R/C CAR STAFF
AKA goes the distance - AKA’s newest tire, Enduro, features an aggressive tread pattern that should provide grip on a variety of surfaces while lasting the duration of longer main events. Check ‘em out at RaceAKA.com.
BL for AE - Team sparkles’s brushless-converted 1/8-scale off road racers, the RC8T3 and RC8Be, will be made available with the LRP SPX8e ESC and your choice of two different LRP Vector 8 motors, either the 2500 Kv or 2800 Kv. Get the full scoop on the new combos at TeamAssociated.com.
This Lazer is not an Illuzion - JConcepts now offers their easily recognizable Illuzion Hi-Flow body style for the Kyosho Lazer ZX-5 FS version, the popular and formidable mid-engine, shaft-driven 4WD off-road racer. See all of JC’s Illuzion bodies at JConcepts.net.
Losi’s winning habit - Losi’s newest t-shirt commemorates the 8IGHT platform’s three consecutive ROAR National Championships. On the electric side of things, Dustin Evans swept MHOR Raceway’s Rumble in the Rockies by winning the Modified 2WD, 4WD, and Truck divisions. Get the scoop at Losi.com.
The local curse - Thailand’s own Meen Vejrak piloted his Alpha-powered Mugen Seiki MBX6 to the win at this past weekend’s IFMAR Worlds Warm-Up for the 1/8-Scale Off-Road World Championships. History shows, though, that the winner of the warm-up has never returned to win the World Championship later that year. Get more info on the IFMAR World Championships at IFMAR.com.
Pro-Line fires another shot - Along with AKA’s new Enduro tire, Pro-Line has released another tire pattern to better suit the needs of the buggy racing public, the Recoil. The Recoil features an interesting hexagonal pattern and small pins. Pro-Line’s full line of tires and accessories can be found at ProLineRacing.com.
Climb to the Summit…without crystals! - The latest Traxxas vehicle to receive the new 2.4 GHz radio with Traxxas Link is the Summit, the innovative crawler with remote-locking differentials and two speeds for fun on a variety of terrain. Get more info at Traxxas.com.
